A search for the disappeared becomes a fight to survive the truth.
A veteran American correspondent, weeks from leaving Peru, sends two Peruvian journalists to investigate a suspected massacre in the Andean highlands. They vanish, leaving behind only an encrypted message hidden on videotape. Refusing to walk away, he follows the trail from curfew-scarred Lima into Ayacucho and beyond, where every lead points toward a hidden apparatus operating behind official silence.

Discovering the truth kills.
Teaser Note: This is an early mood piece, not the final trailer. Conceived as a character-driven visual prologue from Leslie Baxter’s interior perspective, it draws on archival imagery and selected scout material to evoke the film’s psychological terrain, tension, and moral stakes.
A period story with contemporary force
Set in late 1980s–early 1990s Peru, CURFEW is rooted in a historical moment when terror, censorship, and official silence reshaped public life. But the film’s force is contemporary. Its world of manipulated fear, democratic erosion, and lethal disinformation speaks directly to the present. Built as a prestige political thriller, CURFEW is designed to carry both cinematic tension and historical weight.

From the Director
Rodolfo Pereira is a Peruvian writer-director whose work bridges cinematic storytelling and journalistic urgency. Developed over many years, CURFEW emerges from a lived understanding of how violence, propaganda, and institutional silence deform public truth.
“CURFEW is the film I’ve carried the longest because it’s built around a question I still consider urgent: what happens to a society when truth becomes a lethal commodity?”
Why CURFEW Now
A period film with immediate contemporary relevance, CURFEW speaks to the fragility of truth, the manipulation of fear, and the human cost of political violence.
Truth Under Siege
In an era defined by disinformation, CURFEW examines what happens when public truth is distorted, withheld, or weaponized.
Violence as Governance
The film explores how fear becomes a social tool — shaping behavior, eroding trust, and normalizing silence.
Its historical setting gives the film cinematic distance; its themes make it urgently current.
A Regional Story, A Global Echo
Though rooted in Peru, CURFEW resonates far beyond one nation, reflecting democratic fragility across borders.
